Next weekend the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam will hit Los Angeles for the second leg of this season's world tour on Saturday September 22nd at the LA Convention Center. With $120,000 USD in cash prizes slated to be awarded at the tournament, it promises to be an unmissable event for any teams and competitors in the Southern California area and beyond.
But what's making all of the headlines is the special follow-up event taking place in the same space the following day, on Sunday September 23rd; the second edition of Abu Dhabi King Of Mats will feature an invitation-only roster of 10 UAEJJF champions from the Heavyweight division, facing off to win their share of $42,000 USD in prize money, and the title of King of Mats. Famed champs on the roster are: Erberth Santos, Ricardo Evangelista, Gutemberg Pereira, Gerard Labinski, Rudson Mateus, Tanner Rice, Adam Wardzinski, Alexandre Ceconi, Gabriel Arges and Jackson Souza.
As a bonus, there will be a special super-match between reigning King of Mats Heavyweight champion Alexander Trans and the winner of this second edition of King of Mats, promising to be an exciting and action-packed finale to an exciting and action-packed weekend of jiu-jitsu.
